AURES Holdings publishes ESG report for 2021

AURES Holdings, Central Europe's largest used car retailer, has just published its ESG report for 2021. The Group has been successful in meeting its ESG objectives in environmental care, improving conditions for employees and strengthening corporate social responsibility activities.

"Over the past year, we have taken important steps towards meeting our ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) targets, while overcoming a range of external obstacles that have affected the entire sector, including issues related to Covid, material shortages and inflationary pressures on costs," said Karolína Topolová, CEO and Chair of AURES Holdings, operator of the AAA AUTO and Mototechna network of car dealerships in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

Among the achievements of AURES Holdings' ESG strategy is a 21% reduction in tailpipe emissions of vehicles sold compared to 2018, an important step towards the company's goal of reducing these emissions by 40% by 2025. In the area of environmental protection, the company also achieved a significant milestone in water management.

"Our goal is to reduce water consumption per car sold by 20% by 2030 compared to 2019. In 2021, we almost achieved this goal, reducing water consumption per car sold by 17% compared to the 2019 baseline year," said Karolína Topolová.

The company has also made significant progress in training and upskilling its employees. "The average annual training hours per employee more than doubled in 2021. In total, we provided 30,606 hours of training to our employees," Karolína Topolová pointed out.

In the area of corporate social responsibility, AURES Holdings focused mainly on helping Ukraine whilst continuing to support children who have lost one or both parents in a car accident.

"We sent almost CZK 4,000,000 to the accounts of non-profit organizations helping Ukraine, including help from our employees in all the countries where we operate. We have prepared accommodation for Ukrainian mothers and children in our Czech and Slovak branches. We have lent two dozen cars to NGOs to transport Ukrainian families to safety. Over 200 employees have been involved in charity work in Poland and the Czech Republic," said Karolína Topolová.

AURES Holdings has for over twenty years also been supporting the Children's Transport Foundation in the Czech Republic, which financially assists orphans of road accident victims. The Foundation has granted almost 900 applications, providing more than CZK 15 million of support for children. This spring, AURES Holdings, together with ÚAMK SR, initiated the establishment of the Children's Transport Foundation in Slovakia.
